Abstract
An overview of on-line corrosion monitoring methods which use electrochemical techniques is presented. Emphasis is on the electrochemical methods which provide the foundations for the on-line monitoring probes. Newer techniques such as electrochemical impedance and electrochemical noise are discussed along with applications of these and other methods to on-lineprobes in typical situations and real world environments. Information on problems encountered with probes in general is outlined including specifics for each electrochemical methodmentioned. Possible new probe types for use in on-linemonitoring systems are also discussed.
