Abstract
Numerous articles have expounded the crevice corrosion behavior of "stainless" alloys in natural seawater and on the factors affecting initiation and propagation of such attack. Several "classics" are revisited to illustrate, for example, divergent views on avoiding crevice corrosion, use of various test methods and the influence of environmental variables.
