Abstract
Laboratory and field tests were undertaken to optimize the ratio of the components and the treatment level of a new inhibitor blend based on molybdate and inorganic phosphate. Laboratory results obtained established the efficiency of this treatment under simulated cooling system operating conditions. In the 90 day field test, the corrosion rate of the steel was found to reduce by 85% with remarkable improvement in the quality of the cooling water.
