Abstract
Solventborne coatings, such as those based on two-pack urethanes, have found extensive use in high performance industrial finishing applications. These coatings offer excellent gloss, weatherability and resistance properties, due to their ability to crosslink after application. Recently, one-pack, waterborne, self-crosslinking acrylic polymers, which offer many of the properties associated with urethanes, have been developed. These systems represent environmental-and user-friendly alternatives to the urethane coatings.
