Abstract
A new test method for the evaluation of chemical resistance in polymers (thermoplastics, thermosets including FRP, and elastomers) is presented, discussed and compared to existing standard test methods. The major advantage of this new multiple observation method is that more reliable predictions of performance can be made in shorter test times. Case histories are presented which illustrate how the new test method has been used to test and evaluate polymers in chemical service.
