Abstract
Electrical isolation and sectionalization of new ductile iron distribution water mains and the proper installation of magnesium anodes eliminate drainage bonds and greatly reduce stray current level in the earth. No significant stray current corrosion is to be expected on copper service pipes when electrically isolated from new ductile iron water mains.
