Within the last five years 1988 – 1993 two tools for corrosion data storage and analysis have been developed independently. The data storage named "CORIS" is based on RDB Technologie. The analysing tool is named "RULEARN" and makes use of implemented Al-Programs. The attempt has successfully been made to bridge the gap between hard- and software platforms. An example demonstrates the interaction with materials selection for nitric acid plants.
