Abstract
The use of duplex and super duplex stainless steels has increased over the last fifteen years. Since the improvement of their weldability, the use of duplex grades has grown dramatically in many fields such as pulp and paper industry, PVC fabrication, phosphoric acid production, chemical transportation, mining, hydrometallurgy, nitric acid and pollution control equipments .
This paper presents corrosion studies completed with the results of field tests, field experiences with system components and industrial references. In many cases these tests include welded joint samples or welded components realized with several welding methods.
