Abstract
A two year evaluation of oxygen scavengers in a 2800 psig (19.3 MPa) coal fired utility boiler is discussed in this paper. Hydroquinone, carbohydrazide, and methyl ethyl ketoxime were evaluated. Data representing oxygen scavenging performance, metal passivation, and effects on feedwater, boiler and steam chemistry is presented.
