Abstract
The Corrosion Control Philosophy Document (CCPD) developed before commissioning of the new process unit will offer a foundation for the development of a comprehensive and robust corrosion monitoring and management program to the site operations, maintenance, pressure equipment/integrity and inspection groups, allowing them to establish an economically optimized asset integrity management system. Historically corrosion control documentation is developed after the pressure equipment is placed in-service, incorporating owner’s lessons learned. For major projects in the oil and gas industry the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies are not typically involved in the development of such documents.
