This paper covers the corrosion control options selection process required to ensure effective corrosion management in an offshore sour gas pipeline system. Three corrosion control options were considered: corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) pipelines; carbon steel pipelines with corrosion control by pH stabilisation; carbon steel pipelines with corrosion control by inhibition. The selected corrosion control option for these pipelines was carbon steel with inhibition.
