Abstract
An erosion-corrosion study has been performed for a 13Cr alloy in liquid-gas multiphase flow conditions with CO2 saturated brine and sand particles. Pure erosion and erosion-corrosion tests were conducted for low sand concentrations at both 76°F (24.4°C) and 150°F (65.6°C). Results were compared to previous data gathered at higher sand rates, where a synergistic erosion-corrosion effect was observed. Results at low sand rates suggest that penetration rates for both pure erosion and erosion-corrosion conditions were similar, and no significant synergistic effect was observed at the conditions tested.
