Abstract
Deeper offshore wells at higher temperatures and pressures and with slight partial pressures of hydrogen sulfide are providing challenges in terms of well design. This is especially true for the selection of high strength casing and coupling tubular materials. A combination of more complete material property characterizations and modified testing protocols are being employed to meet these challenges. This paper describes a testing program that evaluated C110 materials in fitness for purpose environments that used partial pressures of hydrogen sulfide less than 1 atmosphere.
