Abstract
Corrosion management involves open-system software analysis for managing and analyzing corrosion data. It offers advantages over the conventional logbook maintenance or spreadsheet data logging on the aspects of providing two-way information flow for assessing the corrosive situations and reducing man-hours for data management and analysis. Data correlation essential for corrosion assessment can be done on the same platform when using a computerized analysis tool. This paper outlines some of the quality control and assurance models proposed for carrying out safe and reliable operations through processing corrosion data in a computerized corrosion management system. Computerized analysis of corrosion data provides the outputs for determining the type of quality system needed for corrosion management activities.
