Abstract
The available literature on corrosion inhibitors for application in hot mineral acid solutions has been reviewed. The authors have synthesized a few organic compounds containing heteroatoms and investigated their corrosion inhibiting characteristics. The salient features obtained from weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and hydrogen permeation have been discussed. The difference in inhibition action has been explained on the basis of their molecular structures and synergism.
