Abstract
Due to the statistical nature of the electrochemical noise (ECN) measurement, there are fundamental problems with integrating it into standard system control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. However, integrated it must be, if ECN is to become a useful tool to industry. By selecting the right applications for ECN, and developing strategies for using it, this rather strange measurement can be made to sit almost comfortably within conventional SCADA systems.
