Abstract
Corrosion due to the impingement of particles is one mechanism causing erosion corrosion. Inhibitors can retard this corrosion. In this paper a method of estimating wear due to particle impingement is modified to include the effect of inhibitors. In laboratory experiments it is found that two inhibitors retard the effect of particle impingement. The results of the experiment are then used to assess the effect of using these inhibitors in field conditions with the new method of estimation.
