Abstract
New reinforced concrete structures have a specific corrosion environment. Early in reinforced concrete structures the corrosion rate is low. Most existing corrosion protection methods are not necessary. Some of the present protection methods, for example epoxy and zinc coatings, begin to work immediately, when the corrosion protection is provided by the environment. Also the cathodic protection of the steel at that time is not necessary. This paper describes principally different corrosion protection methods for new reinforced concrete structures. These methods increase efficiency and decrease the cost of corrosion protection.
