Abstract
The advent of the internet has fundamentally altered our approach to information dissemination and access. The role of the internet in promoting and supporting a virtual corrosion and materials conference is examined in the context of experiences derived from an internet-based corrosion conference organized in 1996 and the advantages/drawbacks inherent to such an effort.
