Abstract
Different spray-coatings based on TiAl and TiSi2 as well as commercial dip-coatings were applied to low-alloy F12 steel and a 18Cr1Al steel and tested in an Ar-5%H2-1%H2S atmosphere at a temperature of 700°C, which is representative of conditions prevailing in several industrial gasification processes. Tests were run isothermally for up to 1000 hrs. Certain coatings show a remarkable improvement of corrosion resistance.
