Abstract
Selecting optimal materials of construction for process equipment is essential to building reliable, competitive and cost-effective facilities. Often, corrosion test data is not available, and it is necessary that corrosion testing be performed to ensure that plant equipment is fabricated from the best suited materials of construction. Testing can range from simple immersion tests to specialized corrosion tests performed at elevated temperatures and pressures. An overview of equipment and procedures utilized for specialized corrosion testing will be presented.
