Abstract
Hydrogen induced damage in the form of stepwise cracking, (SWC), and stress oriented hydrogen induced cracking, (SOHIC), are briefly discussed. Hydrogen permeation data are presented and compared with hydrogen concentration profiles and hydrogen induced cracking behaviour. A concept and test set-up for determination of critical hydrogen permeation flux/concentration for initiation and growth of hydrogen induced cracking will be described.
