Abstract
Refinery vessels are taken out of service for routine cleaning, inspection, repair and modifications. The cleaning method of the vessels can affect the suitability for service. Chemical additive cleaning programs are used because they clean in considerably less time, enhance resource recovery and can leave the vessel environment safe for entry.
