Development of a dual coating system for exterior pipelines offering high temperature service (85-105°C) and enhanced performance is described. The dual coating system combines the best advantages of fusion bonded epoxy with the thermo-mechanical performance of polypropylene resins. This unique synergistic relationship offers superior corrosion resistance in highly aggressive environments where long term low maintenance pipelines are required. This has an added degree of safety for environmentally sensitive areas because of the design concept of two coatings to eliminate any potential system breakdowns.

Cost per square foot over the predicted life of the system becomes very attractive when maintenance expenses associated with CP systems of normal coatings are considered.
