Abstract
Corrosions encountered in subsea CRA clad pipe were investigated. The examined problems were 1) localized corrosion at the inner weldment with the oxide scale, and 2) hydrogen disbonding at the interface between CRA and carbon steel of the clad pipe under cathodic protection in sea water. It was revealed that the deaeration of the sea water should be conducted to maintain the corrosion resistance of the tinted weldment. It was also clarified that there was no possibility of the disbonding at the interface because the threshold hydrogen content for the disbonding was about ten times higher than the content under the cathodic protection.
