The U.S. Navy has investigated and implemented design improvements for shipboard Impressed Current Cathodic Protection systems. Laboratory scale model testing was used to achieve an improved, two-zone system design. The redesigned system was installed aboard a test ship and data was gathered during sea trials to assess performance. Data acquired shipboard was correlated to laboratory work to assess the accuracy of the scale model design technique.
