A batch and fall corrosion inhibitor treatment computer model has been developed. The model was developed to provide a more accurate inhibitor recipe for downhole treating of gas wells. Included in the program are thickness and velocity calculations for the inhibitor mixture flowing downward into the well. The program gives the time required for the treatment to reach the bottom and the thickness of inhibitor needed to coat the entire string.

The model has helped in understanding the dynamics of falling inhibitor film and was developed by taking information from past radioactive tracer tests performed by Exxon and others as reported in literature. Considered semitheoretical in its approach, the parameters studied are the thickness and velocity of falling film, viscosity and density of the inhibitor, and the pressure and temperature of the treated gas wel1.
