Abstract
This paper describes a computerized database containing over seven thousand profiles of northern Gulf of Mexico water properties known to influence corrosion and cathodic protection. Water temperature, salinity, oxygen content, density, sound velocity, pH, water chemistry and other data versus depth are listed along with the geographic coordinates. Data searches concentrating on regions and depths of interest have been performed. Water resistivities calculated from the data are presented versus depth. Results are aiding in the design of cathodically protected structures in water depths which greatly exceed our past design experience.
