Abstract
The use of chemical treatments is required in industrial boiler systems to minimize deposition and corrosion. The operating efficiency of the plant is improved, and unwanted boiler service outages are minimized by the effective use of boiler treatment programs. The success of the treatment program is dependent upon the correct dosage of chemicals being applied to the boiler. Many of the operating parameters of the boiler such as, cycles of concentration and holding time, affect boiler treatment performance.
A proprietary fluorescent tracer which meets several stringent requirements has been incorporated in boiler treatment products to easily monitor boiler product concentration, determine boiler cycles and calculate boiler holding time. Both laboratory and field data are presented in this paper.
