Practical guidelines are presented on the use of antifoulants, corrosion inhibitors, neutralizers, and emulsion breakers to control process-side corrosion and fouling in petroleum refineries. Proven applications, treatment levels, and realistic service and monitoring requirements are discussed and potential pitfalls are identified.
