Abstract
The pipeline industry has a need for pipeline coating materials for the external corrosion protection of pipelines operating at elevated temperatures. Many pipeline companies as well as independent firms have laboratories which conduct research and testing programs designed to discover high temperature coatings.
Ten laboratories have conducted tests on a multi-polymeric alloy based tape which was developed for high temperature service. This paper will describe the test methods used and report on the test results obtained at these laboratories. This cold applied pipeline coating tape has demonstrated through the testing to have the ability to perform at operating temperatures up to 250F (121C).
