Abstract
The resistance of type304 stainless steel to crevice corrosion was evaluated by the multiple crevice assembly testing method in chloride-containing solutions. These results were compared with the results of joint research of this method on Group Committee 59-1 of Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering to confirm the reproducibility. Furthermore, the crevice corrosion resistance of some stainless steels were evaluated by this method. We concluded as follows.

The results of this study by multiple crevice assembly test showed good correlation with the ones of Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering.

It was confirmed that the effect of alloying elements on crevice corrosion resistance of stainless steels could be evaluated by multiple crevice assembly testing method.
