The corrosion of steel and stress corrosion cracking of stainless steels under insulation are no longer an interesting phenomenon that is only reported in the literature. They have become common place members of the corrosion family. While we do not welcome new forms of corrosion, we must become educated regarding their nature, occurrence and prevention.
