Industrial Water Engineering, Inc. has developed a computer program that predicts calcium carbonate solubility in a dynamic cooling tower. The cooling water contains 3 mg/L aminomethylenephosphonate. Calcium carbonate scaling is predicted as a function of pH and cycles of concentration. The program language is MBASIC. Temperature, elevation, and ionic strength are incorporated into the calculations.
