Inspection to enforce specifications is required before full benefit can be realized from the coating investment. Testing has proven crucial to selection of the best performing coatings. Much has been accomplished toward Improving coatings and some advances have been made in surface preparation. There remains much room for Improvement in the area of sandblasting for field coating.
