The behavior in aqueous CO2 environments of steel with chromium content between O and 22% has been studied by autoclave tests. The influence of chromium and molybdenum contents has been investigated particularly on 13 Cr steel. Conventional electrochemical test results are related to the CO2 autoclave test results.

The influence of the environment : temperature, chloride concentration, partial pressure of CO2 and some amount of H2S on the corrosion resistance will be discussed.
