Abstract
INCOLOY* alloy MA 956, nominally Fe-20Cr-4.5Al-0.5Ti-0.5Y2O3, is a dispersion strengthened, fabricable material with creep properties superior to any conventional cast or wrought tubing alloys at temperatures up to 1200° C. In addition, this alloy shows much better resistance to oxidation in air and less corrosion in combustion products, and is essentially immune to carburization attack. Some properties and characteristics of the alloy are described in the light of material requirements for severe duty, high temperature hydrocarbon processing.
