A variety of commercial alloys was exposed to simulated coal gasifier environments. In addition to the expected good performance of high-Cr alloys, interesting behavior was shown by modified 50Ni-50Cr materials, alloys which developed Ti-based scales, and some dispersion strengthened alloys.
