Abstract
Task Group T-8-12 was formed to survey crude unit overhead corrosion control practices to establish and report on the state-of-the-art for corrosion control. The practices and experiences were obtained from 129 different units representing 44 companies. A description of the corrosive environment and methods for its control are given. The data from the operating units are analyzed to establish the interrelationship of crude oil treatment, materials of construction and chemical addition on equipment life and fouling. A summary of the data submitted is included.
