During the past thirty years internal tubular coatings for the oilfield have been utilized for corrosion mitigation. Further, many coating material test methods and evaluation techniques have been developed to determine coating material performance for oilfield service. This paper offers an overview of the common practices currently utilized by investigators representing coating formulators, applicators, consumers, and independent laboratories.
