Abstract
Corrosion compatibility studies have been performed under a simulated solar energy collection environment. Severe localized attack of AA1100 was observed after six months' exposure in ten of the twenty-seven heat transfer fluids investigated. The test procedure, which simulates solar service conditions for mixed metal systems, is currently part of an ASTM standard recommended practice.
