Abstract
This paper describes a materials test conducted in the EPRI/B&W 6'x6' AFBC boiler at Alliance, Ohio. Several uncooled stainless steel and high nickel alloys were exposed in the 815C bed of the 6'x6' AFBC for 294 hours. The test results define corrosive regions of the bed, suggest a number of potential corrosion problems, and indicate some candidate alloys for AFBC application.
