This paper presents the results of the preliminary testing on Northern Natural Gas Company's pipeline affected by the CPA-UPA HVDC ground electrode current. Included in this paper are locations on each pipeline that are below protective levels during the operation of the HVDC ground electrode. Methods of protection and results are discussed.
