Abstract
Meeting a cathodic protection criterion does not always mean corrosion is arrested. Unbonded coatings sometimes act as a shield to cathodic protection current and allow ongoing corrosion. Hands on investigation is recommended to learn more about ones pipeline coating system and use this information for either corrective action or the design and selection of new coating systems.
