Many articles have been written regarding the problem of hydrogen sulfide corrosion of engineering materials used in oil field environments. In general, these articles are concerned with either a state-of-the art survey,1,2 theoretical mechanisms,3,4 laboratory testing5-8 or field reports.9-14 It is clearly evident that much has been done, yet more remains to be done.
