The two dominating tube materials for PWR steam generators are Alloy 600 and Alloy 800. In most cases both materials show good corrosion resistance. However, problems with Alloy 600 have been reported (1). The experience with Alloy 800 is very good (2), although so far the supporting data from practical service are limited.
