Combustion Power Company operates Environmental Protection Agency, Industrial, and Office of Coal Research funded developmental programs for the utilization of low grade fuels such as municipal refuse, wood wastes and high sulfur coals. An adiabatic fluidized bed combustion cycle with expansion of the combustion gases through a turbine is used for the generation of electrical power.
