Abstract
The current military specification for heavy phosphate coatings, MIL-DTL-16232, mandates the use of a hexavalent chromium final rinse for performance. Numerous non-hexavalent chromium rinses have been evaluated to date and none have provided performance comparable to hexavalent chromium. This paper will discuss the testing of additional non-hexavalent chromium final rinses and their corresponding performance.
