In 2003, the present operator aquired the Forties Field. The field has been in operation for 33 years and has exceeded its original design life of 20-25 years. The present owner intends to continue production in the Forties Field for, potentially, in excess of another 15 years. They have identified a number of issues with respect to the corrosion and integrity management of the infield pipeline system. In a previous publication the corrosion issues influencing the infield pipeline system have been examined, and the steps taken to ensure effective corrosion management have been discussed. This present publication examines in detail some specific recent integrity issues arising from the intelligent pigging program, from which important lessons have been learned. These integrity issues include microbial influenced corrosion and modeling, an intelligent pig run that failed to identify a defect that subsequently lead to a leak, and the importance of a rapid response capability when such integrity issues occur.
