In China, CIPS test technology is becoming more and more applied, Thus many companies and pipeline scientific research institution have equipped that kind of instrument. But during the fieldwork application, there exist some problems in different extent. In this paper, four kinds of corrosion protection coatings, such as petroleum bitumen coating, coal tar enamels coating, fusion-bonded epoxy coating and 3 layer PE coating, are tested. And for petroleum bitumen coating, four different kinds of ON/OFF cycles are attempted. At last, combining with the test result, some experiences and consideration are presented.
